5 Tips For Success: How To Earn $2000+ Of Passive Monthly Income With Pre-Recorded Classes

Tip #1:
The Basics - Create a quiet teaching space with headphones to help drown out any background noises. Ideally your desk will be facing the wall with a fun background. Keep your computer at eye level and if it’s too low - be sure to raise it up with whatever you can find, such as those old cookbooks that you’re never realistically going to use. Lighting should be high and facing you while at the same time eliminate lights coming from underneath or behind you. You have a dull rectangle in which to entertain and educate the world. Bring the energy! Practice with your camera on as you shift, hold up props, visual aides, bring things closer and further away from the camera lens and practice dancing. Lastly, practice using different tones, voices and inflections.

Record and create quality videos - The bulk of the video can be recorded on Zoom with a filter. You can even add makeup to make yourself look fancy when you just rolled out of bed.
Then, take that video to the editing center with something such as the Clips App or Canva. The bulk of the video can be recorded on Zoom with a filter. Cut out all of the boring stuff and don’t let your video go past 30 minutes. I mean come on… who wants to sit there for longer than that.

Enhance - Create a list of class topics - let the ideas flow! Each course should include four lessons with interaction. You do not want to offer a course that learners could simply find for free on YouTube. Each of the four lessons should include some type of “teacher/student” and “student/student” interaction. You can easily create online games, quizzes, polls, assignments and conversational questions. I have more tips for how teachers can achieve this with a more hands-off approach to take up less of your time in my online training course.

Tip #2:
Sell on Multiple Platforms - Now that you’ve put in the hard work to create pre-recorded online courses, why would you NOT sell them on multiple platforms? A few websites that accept these types of lessons are Udemy, www.teachmetruth.com and Outschool.

Selling Worksheets - Since you might have enhanced your online courses with worksheets that you whipped up on Canva, you can now sell those separately. Again, sell them on multiple platforms such as www.nuggets-of-wisdom.com and Teachers Pay Teachers. An even better idea is to add a sentence to the bottom of your worksheets that promote your online courses. Round and round it goes.

Tip #3:
Promotional Videos - Create short and I mean short, video promotions for each course.
Advertising - There are loads of free advertising options that are better than paid. According to my most recent data, sharing promo videos/reels on Instagram and Facebook have the best results. Next, find Facebook groups that include your target audience and share your courses like hot cakes. Sharing daily in the beginning of your journey is free and effective.

Coupons - Be strategic when using coupons. There are benefits to promoting a brand new course with a coupon. On Outschool, brand new classes will automatically start at the bottom of the search engines. The more students that take your course + The more reviews your course has = The higher up on the search engine it will be & The more money you will earn. Since you are never going to get suckered into paying for advertising, look at a coupon as a free marketing tool with a much higher success rate than conventional advertising methods.
Funnels - Create a marketing funnel as laid out in this image:

Funnel your classes!

Tip #4: The numbers don’t lie! Think of a number between 29 and 31… now hold it in your mind and don’t forget it. You want 30 of basically everything:
  • 30 self-paced courses.
  • Upsells that are 30% more than the original class price.
  • 30% more new students trying your classes each month.
  • 30% increase in the average purchase price each month.
self-paced course flow

Create a class flow that works.

Tip #5: Transition to live classes! Now that your classes are prepped and you’ve tried them, you won’t accidentally have a science experiment fail in a live classroom so you can breathe easy. You might have prepared slides, worksheets, an outline, online games or other fun things that can be used over and over again in a live setting.

I started Teach Me Truth Christian School because of the need for families to have a safe space for learning. After reading, "Mama Bear Apologetics", I recognized the call for a Christian education platform. Not only teaching children about the Bible, but also teaching apologetics that back up the Bible with science, logic, facts, history and intellectual reasoning. I am passionate about homesteading, homeschooling and working on becoming more independent from the world and government. Most schools in person and online censor Christianity and promote everything else - and I mean everything else! As parents, our jobs are becoming more difficult to protect our children from the evils of this world while at the same time educating about the truth. Soon after starting the online platform, God called me to start an in-person school as well. If you are interested in started a Teach Me Truth Christian School in your area, please send me an email: support@teachmetruth.com
